Dear Neighbours

Thank you for completing the Barnsbury & St Mary’s Neighbourhood Group survey and showing your interest in the Council’s initiative to create Low Traffic Neighbourhoods.

A number of community groups are getting behind this initiative, with their first joint meeting held on Thursday 2 July, including Living Streets, Islington Clean Air Parents, Cycle Islington, Fossil Free, Extinction Rebellion and Inspiring Sustainable Islington.

Have a look at this brilliant leaflet produced jointly by the groups telling you everything you need to know about Low Traffic Neighbourhoods!

The results of the Barnsbury & St Mary's survey are starting to show some fairly clear trends, and we will be leafleting until Sunday 19 July so that the results show the views of as many of the residents as possible. If you are interesting in helping with leafleting, let us know by emailing barnsburystmarys@gmail.com

Take a look at the St Peter’s initial survey results here. The Council is in the process of implementing its first Low Traffic Neighbourhood in St Peter’s ward as this newsletter goes out to you - works will be in progress from 4 to 9 July. We'll be taking a wander over there in the next few days to see!

We’re committed to making sure that Neighbours and Council are both speaking and listening to each other. So let us know what else you want to hear about, by emailing barnsburystmarys@gmail.com. And if you want to get in touch with the Council to offer comment or support (or both!), make your views known on the Commonplace survey or check out Richenda’s recent post for Councillor contact details.

All our best

Barnsbury & St Mary’s Neighbourhood Group
